Hello, and thanks for visiting. I’m Janet Van Blarcom - - the smiling face behind the camera. I am a high school senior portrait photographer in southern Wisconsin. In 2014, my husband, Mark, passed away after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Many emotional and heartbreaking days followed me and my family. Shortly after the loss of my husband, I learned taking up a new hobby is an effective coping mechanism for grief. I decided to re-focus my energy on something that brought peace and joy to my heart and to my life. I picked up my camera and started capturing all the beauty around me. It didn’t take long before I launched my business, “Mark the Date Photography.” My goal is to show off what is uniquely beautiful about YOU. Each click of the shutter will showcase your beauty, grace, strength and enthusiasm for life. It will be an incredible experience. I can’t wait to meet you.

Janet is so good at what she does. She comes to your session fully prepared with poses and locations and
